September 2010 President’s Report

A good field for FoSC at Wakefield in the cold.
Minus 6 at the track walk while we waited for the fog to lift!
Thanks to Mal Brewster who helped all of us improve our lap times with his analogies to farming and horses! Thank Christ he’s finally got rid of the sheep station! Seriously guys, if he can’t help you, you must be blindingly fast.
Charlie ran his usual fast flowing meeting and I’m happy to report no incidents and everyone enjoying their racing. It’s always a pleasure at these meetings; an overseas guest was amazed at the friendly atmosphere and camaraderie.

A huge Thank You to all those members who turned up to help promote the club and Historic Touring Car Racing at the CMC Day on Sunday 22nd August.

The Appendix J Association’s Annual General Meeting is coming up on Tuesday
5th October. Included this month and in the next Action Line are Nomination and Proxy forms for electing your new committee members. Try to get involved here,
The club is only as good as the input from its members and those dedicated few on Committee!

I need your help for Muscle Car Masters. The Committee has agreed to organize the parking for Group N on the back two rows of the skidpan. For those of you who haven’t got a garage or carport it’s the same as last year only better!
You can come in between 5 PM and 8 PM on Thursday night, 7 AM and 8 PM Friday and after 7 AM on Saturday. With your correct documentation the Security Team will direct you to a Club Member on the allocated area and he will assign you a numbered space. First come first served.
Your job is to set yourself up within the marked space and not overflow it.  If you want to be with mates then I suggest one of you comes on the Thursday evening and claims the spots. This involves a big effort from the guys organizing, so make their jobs easier by being a little patient and possibly waiting in peak periods. Remember they are Volunteers and want to get their racing organised as well! Thanks in advance gents.

Tony and Matt from Wakefield Park have approached the club again with an offer to have an Appendix J Club area at the circuit, similar to what we had at Oran Park.
The idea is for two carports at the northern end of the first row of buildings from the tower. Just along from the Wakefield Office and the GEAR shed. This is currently a grassed area. We can put up signage and use this as a meeting area. There will also be some lock up storage attached. For this to work best will probably involve Group N cars setting up in the current parking area behind the viewing mound. The mound is to be terraced and landscaped as well! Have a look at the area next time you go to Wakefield.

See you trackside soon,
David Roberts
Acting President

Report from Secretary & HSRCA Group N Registrar for Action
Line September 2010

Next General Meeting:

Tuesday September 7th at Denistone Sporting Club, 59 Chatham Road, West Ryde. Phone 02 9874 3650.

Our August General Meeting, as you will see from the minutes, was not very well attended.
September meeting is the Tuesday after MCM, our largest race meeting of the year, so there should be
plenty to discuss.
Members are urged to attend our general meetings and offer input such that we can improve our club.

FoSC Wakefield Park 7th-8th August : There were plenty of laps for the entry dollar due to the low
overall entry of 133 cars. Group N provided 29 which were split into two groups. David Wheatley [Nb
Mini] received the driver of the meeting award following his achievement of consistent personal best lap
times. Mechanical problems saw only 19 Group N finishers by the last races on Sunday. Those attending
reported an excellent well run meeting.

Club Committee: Election time is coming closer. The AGM is on Tuesday 5th October. Please put this
date in your diaries. Nomination and proxy forms are provided elsewhere in the magazine. Dave Roberts
is doing a terrific job standing in as President, co-ordinating production of Action Line and performing
numerous other duties. However with other personal commitments he cannot continue much longer. Your
club needs you. If you think you can be of assistance please talk to us.

HSRCA Race Calendar 2010

Wakefield Park  September Historic Meeting
Eastern Creek  November  Tasman Revival

Wakefield Park 18th-19th September

This meeting is still some weeks away and unfortunately only two weeks after Muscle Car Masters.
Despite the proximity to MCM we are hoping for a reasonable grid of Group N cars.
Entries have been emailed to regular competitors or are available from the HSRCA web site hsrca.org.au. You can now enter on line. Entries officially close 27th August however late entries will be accepted.
Keep in mind this is a pointscore round.

Tasman Revival Eastern Creek November 26th-28th

Planning of the Tasman Revival meeting is well advanced. It will again be a 3 day meeting.
Most competitors should have received an entry form by email. There is an excellent web site
www.tasmanrevival.com.au dedicated to this event. A number of Group N cars feature on the site.
It is well worth a look. There is to be an Art Union with the prize being a Lotus Elise, a fully refurbished and registered ex Lotus series car donated by Lotus Sydney.
Please support the HSRCA as it is the promoter who offers us the most opportunities to race our cars.

My contact details are listed on the inside front cover of this magazine.
